What is an emergency “grab bag”? When do we need it and how can we prepare one?
Hello, I'm Mohamed from Norwegian
People's Aid - the Conflict Preparedness and Protection Program
Today we will
talk about the emergency bag and its components that we will need in times of
emergency and we will discuss the following:
First: What is an emergency bag?
When do we need it?
Where should it be placed?
How is it prepared?
To answer these
questions, please watch the video to the end.
An emergency bag
is a handbag or backpack that contains a number of essential items that you
will need in an emergency that forces you to leave your home.
The emergency bag
should be prepared and placed in an easily accessible location in your home,
ready to be taken when necessary.
More than one
emergency bag can be prepared to suit the number of family members.
How is it
prepared?
The things to put
in the bag vary according to your needs, but let’s review some of the things
you should consider packing in yours:
Official papers
such as passport, ID card and other certificates
Money and other
valuables
You need to keep
important contact numbers in your bag
High-calorie
snacks like candy or energy bars, nuts, etc.
Plenty of water
Clothes, shoes
and personal hygiene products,
Baby needs if
there are, books and toys
In addition to a multi-useable
tool, sewing kit, and rope
A first aid kit
and some medicines such as analgesics and fever reducers or prescription medicines
for chronic diseases.
You also need a
flashlight, a charged mobile , power bank, batteries and a radio
Other needs may
differ from person to person – make sure you think about all the items you and
your family might need and pack them ahead of time.( this add I see the same as
next line – I suggest To Remove it )
Take the time to
prepare your emergency bag in advance so that when a crisis arises you are
prepared. Don’t wait until the last minute because by then it’s already too
late!
Thank you for
watching video, if you find any questions please leave it in the comments and
you will be answered. My Regards
